AbOuT McBrIdE’s aNd Our Bar
Bar Back
- $Was built in 1890 in Chicago
- $Sat in a Saloon in Bloomfield, Nebraska until 1994.
- $Was then sold to a gentleman who stored it in a barn in Northern Minnesota 30 min off the Canadian border.
- $That’ s when we found it, bought it, and brought it back in a horse trailer to be restored back to life.
- $We spent about 2 months refurbishing in the home garage.
- $It was polished by hand by the Owner himself with a technique and process with Shellac called French polishing.
- $It is made from Flame Birch and Mahogany.
- $The front of the bar was also still mostly intact, and you can see how we added that into the front of our bar face as well.
- $We also managed to save the original bar top itself, which is our waiting tables and bar rails in the garage windows.
Building information
- $The building was built in 1860, 5 years before the civil war ended
- $Has a roller rink upstairs that was operational around the 30’ s. Which we still have the original wood floor from then.
McBride’s Bars
- $This is the 4th location in the McBride ’ s family
- $First was what we call the “OG” location in Plainfield. Was opened in 2011
- $Second was the Joliet location, known as McBride ’ s on 52. Opened in 2013
- $Then the third opened in Aurora, called McBride ’ s North which opened in 2015.
- $And finally, our fourth location, McBride's Morris was bought in 2024, opened in 2025.
- $We pride ourselves on the family like environment we have with our staff, guests and friends.
- $We like to consider ourselves more of a family restaurant, rather than a bar.
